John E. Spillan, M.B.A. and Ph.D. in Business and
Management and serves as Associate Professor of
Business Administration at The Pennsylvania
State University--DuBois campus. Dr.
Spillan has traveled extensively in Europe and
Latin America. He has a broad
international academic background having
lectured at the Warsaw School of Economics in
Warsaw, Poland and has spent a significant
amount of time in Latin America most recently
teaching and doing research at the University of
Talca in Talca, Chile. Dr. Spillan brings
to his teaching a research both practitioner and
academic experience. Dr. Spillan's
experience in management prior to entering
academia provides him with a twin view of the
decision making process: one from the
theoretical side and also from the practitioner
side. His articles have appeared in the
International Journal of Marketing and Marketing
Research, Journal of Business in Developing
Nations, Southern Business Review, Journal of
East West Business, European Management Journal,
Journal of Teaching in International Business,
Journal of Small Business Strategy,
International Small Business Journal, Journal of

Business. Combining his extensive
practitioner, academic and international
experience give the Penn State DuBois Campus a
valuable faculty member with a worldwide view of
global business. His experience can
provide the students with a wide perspective on
different aspects of management and marketing as
they venture into the business world. His
research interests center on Crisis Management,
International Marketing, Entrepreneurship and
International Business with specific interest in
Latin America and Eastern Europe. |
