Checksheets

A checksheet is a list of all requirements for a major. They are usually organized into three sections:

  • General Education
  • Courses required for the major (common to all options)
  • Courses required for the option

In most Education majors, there are certain courses required for the major that can also count towards General Education. These are indicated on the checksheets. Other codes indicate which courses are required for Entrance to the Major, and which courses require grades of C or better.

Checksheets for majors offered through the College of Education are available on-line. These include Elementary and Kindergarten Education, Secondary Education, Special Education, Rehabilitation Services, Urban Education, and Workforce Education.

For programs offered through other Penn State University Park colleges, required courses (but not checksheets) can be found in the Penn State Bluebook:

For certification programs offered through Penn State Harrisburg, the required courses and suggested sequencing are summarized at web pages describing each program. In general, students should plan on completing all of their General Education coursework before moving to Penn State Harrisburg.

Enrolled students can also request a degree audit as if they are in any major offered by Penn State through eLion.
