Powdered metals, ceramics, and composites have grown in popularity because of the increased reliability of products manufactured using these non-traditional methods and their efficient use of materials and energy resources. Since we are located near St. Mary's, the powder metal capital of the world, a great deal of our course work involves "powder metallurgy" and "particulate science."  Graduates of this program are sought "worldwide" for their knowledge and expertise in this unique manufacturing process.
