| The
Materials Engineering Technology program at Penn State DuBois was
instituted in 1991 and offers technical courses that expose the
student to the "materials" industry, as well as provide knowledge
in the use of computers, electronics, and drafting.
Powdered metals,
ceramics, and composites have grown in popularity because of the
increased reliability of products manufactured using these
non-traditional methods and their efficient use of materials and
energy resources. Since we are located near St. Mary's, the powder
metal capital of the world, a great deal of our course work
involves "powder metallurgy" and "particulate science." Graduates
of this program are sought "worldwide" for their knowledge and
expertise in this unique manufacturing process.
