The Materials Engineering
Technology program at Penn State DuBois prepares students for careers in the materials
industry in a variety of areas such as:
- Quality Control
- Research and Development
- Materials Testing
- Technical Sales
- Powdered Metallurgy
Our graduates are sought worldwide for
their specialized knowledge in "powdered metals" manufacturing processes.
Highly educated materials technologists
have significant roles to play in the manufacturing industry. Their educational background
uniquely qualifies them to design, inspect and evaluate components while communicating to
senior engineers the analysis of data as it relates to the engineering application.
The Materials Engineering Technology
program provides the student with essential theory and an extensive laboratory background
in these key elements of materials technology. Courses are offered that give the student
exposure to the materials industry by providing comprehensive classroom instruction and
stimulating industrial interaction.
This program is one of the Pennsylvania
Department of Education approved Tech Prep programs. Secondary school
students who have graduated from a program covered by a signed Penn
State Articulation Agreement may be eligible for special admission
procedures and/or advanced placement. |
