EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR AWARD

2002 - 2003

All nominees must be full-time staff members with at least two years of prior service to your school

Please describe your nominee's qualifications by indicating how he/she meets the following criteria.  The award winner will be chosen based on the number of criteria met and the degree to which the criteria are met.  Provide specific examples for as many of the criteria as possible, attaching additional pages if necessary.

Ballots must be returned to Diane Gigliotti in the Tech Prep office by 5:00 P.M. on Friday, April 18, 2003.

Please answer ALL questions or indicate N/A (Not Applicable) if you don't know.  Incomplete nominations will not be considered.

1. Describe how the educator motivates and interests Tech Prep students.  Give examples of how he/she establishes rapport by showing enthusiasm, compassion and respect for the students.

2. Describe how the educator inspires the Tech Prep students to a high level of achievement.  Give examples of how his/her instructional methods support this achievement.

3. Describe how the educator shows creativity in his/her Tech Prep teaching or dealings with Tech Prep student.

4. Describe how the educator makes him/herself available to students who may need additional help or seek advice.

5. Describe how the educator shows a genuine interest in the students' career and life goals.

RELATED ACTIVITIES

1. List the educator's extra-curricular student activities.

2. Describe how the nominee, in his/her role as an educator, furthers the philosophy of Tech Prep.

3. Describe how the nominee, in his/her role as an educator, serves the school and community.
