Information for Adult LearnersAdult learners at Penn State are defined as any student over 23 years of age who has been out of high school for five years or more or who has served in the United States Armed Forces for four or more years. Penn State DuBois has a strong commitment to adult learners. Each semester, approximately 35-40% of our student body are adult learners. The campus offers several outstanding programs and services geared directly to adult learners, such as Adult Learner New Student Orientation sessions, an Adult Learner Mentorship opportunity and a variety of out of class programs for adult learners and their families. National trends show an increasing number of adults enrolling at colleges and universities. While reasons for enrolling vary from individual to individual, many adult learners are looking to make career changes and need new skills to do so, while for others it may be the first opportunity to consider taking a college class or pursue a degree. Whatever your reason, Penn State DuBois can help you meet...and surpass...your individual goals. Contact us to set up an appointment with an Admissions or Career counselor. You'll be glad you did!
